What are the best things I can do to maintain the health of my tractor or other equipment?
• Always make sure to regularly check the fluid levels of your equipment. This would include oil, transmission fluid, hydraulic fluid, and coolants.
• Proper storage of your equipment is important to its maintenance. If possible, store equipment is a garage, barn, or storage shed. If that’s not an option, cover your equipment when not in use.
• Check the tires! Proper tire pressure will increase gas efficiency. Also periodically check for shards, nails or other debris that could puncture your tires.
• Keep it clean! That may sound simple but giving your equipment a wash once a week will do wonders to minimize rust and make it run more efficiently.
